This morning, the EVSC was made aware of a social media post involving a school. After conferring with local law enforcement, it has been determined the post was not directed toward an Evansville school. EVSC and local law enforcement continue to monitor social media outlets and individuals who post statements intended to illicit fear will be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law.

My School Survey
EVSC families, and students in grades 9 to 12 received the 2018 My School Survey this week.  This survey was mailed directly home on Monday, February 5.  In addition, parents with a valid email address on file received the survey via their email account.  Parents/Guardians will complete either a hard copy or electronic version of the survey.  Please only complete one version and if you have children in the same school, please complete one survey for that school and base your answers on the oldest child.  This survey asks questions about the school environment, student engagement and family involvement.  Students will take their survey at school.  If you do not wish for your child to take the My School Survey, please contact the office.  Hard copies, both English and Spanish versions can be picked up in the office.  The survey may be returned one of three ways: (1) Place the survey in a Survey Return Box located in the school's main office, (2) Return the survey to your child's teacher in a sealed envelope, or (3) Mail directly to Diehl Consulting Group (123 NW 4th Street - Suite #3 - Evansville, IN  47708).  Please know we value your feedback in shaping the future of the EVSC.

Students with Medical Conditions
Require Medication
It is very important that students with allergies, asthma, diabetes and seizures have a CURRENT ACTION PLAN on file in the nurse's office and that if a student requires any type of medication, that we have these readily available at school in case of emergency!  ALL of these need to be in the nurse's office EACH SCHOOL YEAR.  We have many students that do not have current action plans, medications and medications permission slips (needed if your child carries a rescue inhaler, insulin or an epi-pen) on file in the nurse's office at this time and it is VERY IMPORTANT that this issue is addressed by parents.  Have your doctor fax a completed action plan to Shelly Donovan our school nurse at 812-435-8875 immediately or if you have any questions call Shelly at 812-435-8345.

 2018 Experience Online ISTEP+
The 2018 Experience Online ISTEP+ website will make it possible for students to experience various technology-enhanced item types that will appear on the ISTEP+ Part 2 assessment as often as they like from home, at school, or on mobile devices.  This website uses the same tools, navigation, interface, and infrastructure as the real online ISTEP+ assessments, providing students with a more authentic, low-stakes way to practice and become familiar with online testing and technology-enhanced items.  Practice opportunities such as these enable students to become comfortable with the technology used for online testing before they take ISTEP+.
So check out the link above and get a step ahead on the upcoming
ISTEP+ 2018 test!!
